Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic school environment and make a significant difference as a Social Worker supporting students from Pre K through 12th grade for the entire 2026-2027 academic year. This rewarding, full-time contract opportunity is located near Cairo, IL, offering the chance to collaborate with dedicated educators and help students overcome academic, social, and emotional barriers to success.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current and valid licensure as a School Social Worker Experience working with Pre K-12th grade students in a school or similar setting preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engagement with students, families, and faculty Ability to manage caseloads and provide both individual and group interventions Familiarity with IEP processes, crisis intervention, and behavioral support plans Adaptable, resourceful, and committed to professional collaboration
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop personalized support plans Deliver counseling services and behavioral interventions for students across grade levels Partner with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student well-being and positive school climate Assist with crisis intervention, attendance concerns, and school-wide programs promoting mental health and social-emotional learning Maintain documentation and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings as required Advocate for students and connect families with additional community resources where necessary
