Job Description

Visit School Website Catholic Schools Search The Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic schools serve more than 40,000 students in 150+ elementary and high schools in Cook and Lake counties. It is one of the largest private school systems in the United States. Its schools have received 96 Blue Ribbon awards from the U.S. Department of Education over the past 10 years. The College and Career Readiness Coordinator at Our Lady of Tepeyac High School supports the implementation of initiatives to prepare students for post-secondary success. By fostering strong relationships with students, families, faculty, and external partners, the Coordinator ensures every student understands the college application process and is supported in choosing and applying to institutions that align with her goals and aspirations. The Director also helps students explore career opportunities and develop leadership skills through comprehensive programming and strategic partnerships. This position collaborates with the Director of College and Career Readiness, the Principal and the President to achieve program goals. Key Responsibilities Student Support
  • Provide support at all four grade levels for College and Career exploration and success.
  • Serve as the lead College and Career advisor for the Junior Class.
  • Co-teach the Senior Seminar course, covering topics such as college applications, scholarships, financial aid and other post secondary options.
  • Provide support to students and families through the college application process, including completing applications, writing letters of recommendation, and navigating financial aid.
  • Co-teach the Academic Success/ class to instill foundational study habits and time management skills for the Freshwomen Class. Program Events
College Visits:
Support the Director in organizing regular trips to various colleges and universities.
    Career Day :
    Support the planning and execution of the annual Career Day, providing exposure to career pathways for all four grade levels. Mentoring Program
    • Support all aspects of the Mentoring Program, including: Scheduling sessions, developing agendas, and coordinating field trips in collaboration with the Principal.
    Maintaining a timeline and checklist for each session. Communicating with mentors about schedules, activities, and program updates. Recruiting new mentors with support from Advancement staff and the Advisory Board. Matching students with mentors and ensuring a positive mentor-mentee experience. Conducting annual program evaluations and making improvements as needed. Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree and a valid driver's license. This position has an annualized salary of $44,000.00. An employee's pay within the salary will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
