Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting their emotional and social well-being as a School Social Worker in a dynamic educational environment near Des Plaines, IL. This contract opportunity calls for a compassionate and proactive professional ready to collaborate with educators, families, and community resources. You'll play a key role in empowering students to overcome barriers to learning and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Qualifications & Skills:
Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program State licensure or eligibility as a School Social Worker Previous school-based experience preferred, but not required Strong communication, advocacy, and organizational skills Ability to assess student needs and develop supportive plans Adept at collaborating with multidisciplinary teams Compassion, patience, and a student-centered approach
Your Responsibilities:
Deliver individual and group counseling to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges Partner with teachers, staff, and parents to create supportive interventions and academic accommodations Develop and implement individualized education plans and behavior management strategies Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and external agencies Support crisis intervention services and facilitate referrals to specialized community resources Help foster a positive and inclusive school climate This role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact while building strong relationships within the school and local community.
