Summer Learning Academy Principal Salary:
$3,360 Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and proactive Elementary Social Worker to join our Summer Learning Academy team. The primary focus of this role is to bridge the gap between academic learning and emotional well-being. You will be the point person for Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) instruction and behavior support, ensuring that all students have a safe and successful summer experience.
Key Responsibilities SEL Instruction & Integration:
Deliver small-group or whole-class lessons focused on core SEL competencies (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making). Provide teachers with strategies to integrate SEL into daily routines.
Behavioral Support & Intervention:
Collaborate with staff to implement positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS). Provide immediate de-escalation support for students experiencing emotional or behavioral dysregulation.
Individual & Group Counseling:
Facilitate "Check-In/Check-Out" procedures for high-priority students. Lead social skills groups to foster peer connection.
Crisis Management & Advocacy:
Act as the primary contact for any student crises or child welfare concerns during the summer session. Collaborate with summer principal and families to provide resources and ensure a consistent support system between home and school. Equipment Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone. Travel Requirements Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Works in standard office and school building environments.
