JOB OVERVIEW
Assist students with academic learning by providing strategic services that identify and address the social/emotional and environmental issues that interfere with the educational process.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a School Social Worker Endorsement, PreKindergarten-Age 21 A completed/submitted online application, resumé, and letters of recommendation as required on the online application Ability to work as a team member Applicants must hold valid Illinois Professional Educator License or other License as required Master's Degree in Social Work The ability to speak a foreign language is preferred
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content and learning standards Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning Utilize instructional management systems that maximize student learning Differentiate instruction and monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals Plans and supervises assignments for assistants and volunteers Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships Meet professional responsibilities as outlined in the Staff Handbook Continue to seek professional development opportunities as required by the State for license renewal Maintain professional work habits Communicate effectively within the educational community Maintain your Professional Educator License as required by law
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO PUPIL SERVICES
Provides crisis intervention services Serve as a specialist to the education team and as a member of the Pupil Services team Plan and supervise assignments for Program Assistants working with all students Prepare an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for students at least annually Maintain accurate documentation adhering to the dates and timelines set forth by Federal and State governments, and Community Consolidated School District 46 Collect continual data reflecting growth tied to the students' needs for support and/or the IEP goal Share in school-related duties as assigned by the building Principal
