Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Exciting contract opportunity available for a skilled school social worker eager to make a positive impact on high school students. This full-time role begins in August 2026 and concludes in May 2027, offering the chance to work in a single building supporting students in grades 9-12. The ideal candidate will bring compassion, organization, and a team-oriented approach to addressing students' social-emotional and academic needs within a supportive educational setting.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid Illinois licensure in school social work or eligibility for certification Proven experience working with high school students (grades 9-12) Familiarity coordinating school-based Social Emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives Strong background in participating in 504 planning and supporting general education students Effective communicator who excels in collaborative environments Established partnerships with outside agencies providing student services is a significant advantage
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver social work services for both 504 and general education students Actively participate in 504 team meetings, contributing expertise and support Coordinate the administration and interpretation of SEL screener data for all students within the building Foster collaboration with external agencies and community partners to ensure holistic student support Provide crisis intervention, consultation, and resource linkage as needed Communicate sensitively with students, families, and school personnel to encourage positive outcomes This contract position offers a dynamic environment for professionals passionate about empowering adolescents.
