Our mission at CFPA is to help all people - women, men, and children, live free from violence and abuse, and Court Advocates help bring that vision to life. Court Advocates provide advocacy services and information to clients and survivors of domestic violence who are fleeing violence and/or abuse about emergency Orders of Protection, local court procedures, issues of domestic violence, CFPA services, and other community resources. Advocacy work also includes assisting clients with paperwork and court procedures, accompanying clients to the courtroom, supporting clients in their interactions with the legal and criminal justice systems, and more. Preferred education of a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Legal Studies, or related field, or relevant work experience. Must be passionate about CFPA's mission, work well independently and as a team, and have exceptional soft skills. A pioneer in providing services to victims of violence, CFPA has grown from a single rape crisis hotline that started in 1975 to a highly respected statewide leader in working to end abuse and break the cycle of generational violence. CFPA is the only agency in the entire state sanctioned to provide its combined services of Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse/Assault, Human Trafficking, Adult Protective Services, and Prevention Education under one roof. CFPA operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and all victim services are free and confidential.
