Advocacy Coordinator - Bureau County CASA of the
Illinois Valley Salary:
$50,000 annually
Benefits:
$500/month health insurance stipend
Schedule:
Full-Time, Exempt (40 hours/week)
Location:
Bureau County, Illinois (based out of Peru office with travel throughout Bureau County) Make a Difference in the Life of a Child CASA of the Illinois Valley is seeking a passionate, organized, and community-minded professional to join our team as an Advocacy Coordinator serving Bureau County. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are trained volunteers appointed by juvenile court judges to advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. As an Advocacy Coordinator, you will recruit, train, supervise, and support these volunteers while helping ensure children have a consistent voice in court and access to the services they need to thrive. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, managing detailed information, building community relationships, and making a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children. What You'll Do Volunteer Recruitment & Support Recruit, screen, and interview prospective CASA volunteers Represent CASA at community events, fairs, and outreach activities Assist with volunteer training and onboarding Provide ongoing coaching, supervision, and support to CASA volunteers Coordinate volunteer continuing education and recognition activities Case Management & Advocacy Support Match volunteers with children and cases Review volunteer reports and case documentation Attend court hearings and child welfare meetings as needed Assist volunteers in developing advocacy strategies Maintain accurate case files and records Database Management & Reporting Enter and maintain volunteer and case information in CASA's database system Track volunteer hours, mileage, and case activity Generate reports and maintain data needed for grant compliance and program evaluation Ensure records are accurate, complete, and up to date Community Engagement Build relationships with schools, service providers, courts, and community partners Assist with public awareness efforts and volunteer recruitment campaigns Attend occasional evening and weekend events to support outreach and recruitment Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, human services, education, or a related field- Preferred Required Skills & Experience Experience with database systems, data entry, and maintaining accurate records Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Comfort working with volunteers and diverse community stakeholders Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud-based applications Additional Requirements Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Proof of automobile insurance Ability to pass all required background checks Why Join CASA of the Illinois Valley?
