Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity awaits for an Elementary Social Worker to support students and families in an engaging, contract setting. This role is ideal for those passionate about making a positive impact while accommodating a part-time schedule—2-3 days per week, with full-time consideration given to exceptional candidates. You'll collaborate with dedicated educational staff and serve a caseload of approximately 15-20 students, depending on final splits.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver school social work services as outlined in IEP and 504 plans Provide Tier II and Tier III behavioral and social-emotional interventions and supports for general education students Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to plan and monitor student progress Maintain detailed documentation of services, interventions, and outcomes Attend IEP meetings, staffings, and professional development opportunities as needed Serve as a resource for crisis intervention, offering guidance and support to students requiring immediate assistance
Qualifications:
Professional Educator License (PEL) with the School Social Work endorsement in Illinois—required Experience working in a school setting, particularly with elementary students, preferred Strong knowledge of behavioral and social-emotional intervention strategies Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff Organizational skills to manage documentation and multiple cases efficiently Compassion, adaptability, and commitment to student success
