Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a difference in students' lives by providing vital support as a school-based Social Worker for the 2026/2027 school year. This contract opportunity, conveniently located in the Rockford, IL area, is an excellent fit for compassionate professionals dedicated to fostering positive educational environments. Work collaboratively with educators, families, and administrators to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs and help remove barriers to learning.
Key Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program Valid state licensure (or eligibility) as a School Social Worker Prior experience working in schools or with pediatric populations preferred Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds Demonstrated capacity to manage caseloads, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive situations professionally Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments, provide individual and group counseling, and develop intervention strategies to support student growth Collaborate with teachers, parents, and relevant staff to create effective plans addressing students' academic and social-emotional needs Support crisis intervention efforts and participate in schoolwide initiatives promoting positive mental health Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community resources to help students succeed Maintain accurate records and comply with relevant state and federal regulations This contract role offers the chance to work in a supportive school setting, making real impacts throughout the 2026/2027 academic year.
