Community Partnerships Coordinator (Fairmont) Lewis University - 4.2 Romeoville, IL Job Details Full-time $55,145 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Relationship management Full Job Description PAF/Position Details Position Details Position Title Community Partnerships Coordinator (Fairmont) Position Status Full-Time Budget Summary Base Pay $55,145 Position Summary Information Job Description Summary The full-time Partnerships Coordinator reports to the LUCSC Program Director, in coordination with the designated school and district administrator(s) and will collaborate with school/district staff in working with families and community partners (including Lewis University) to ensure that the needs of P-12 students are being met. The Partnerships Coordinator will utilize in-depth knowledge and connections within both the school/district and at Lewis to create sustainable partnerships and collaborations with agencies that lead to improved student, family, and community wellness and success. The Partnerships Coordinator will collect and utilize data within the framework of the community schools strategy. The Coordinator will serve as the main point of contact for all activities occurring in partnership with the school district and Lewis University. This is a grant funded position which ends 12/31/27. About the Lewis University Community Schools Consortium ( LUCSC ): LUCSC, a grant-funded initiative via the U.S. Department of Education, works to increase wellbeing and educational success for PreK-12 students and families in communities local to Lewis University. To do so, LUCSC creates a network of PreK-12 public schools, community agencies, and Lewis offices and departments that work together to provide cohesive services and support for students and families through implementation of the 'community school' strategy. Responsibilities Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education. To perform this job successfully, the Partnerships Coordinator must be able to perform each essential function in the following categories satisfactorily: Student and Family Engagement, Education, Programming Collaborate with staff in the school/district to identify and recruit the most at-risk children into community programming when applicable Collaborate with staff in the school/district to review and identify patterns of absenteeism; collaborate with school/district teams to determine reasons for absences and respond in restorative ways to attendance-related barriers Collaborate with administrators, teachers, support staff, instructional leaders, LUCSC Program Director(s), and other relevant personnel to support family engagement Establish partnerships and services that lead to improved outcomes for immigrant and migrant students and their families: Collaborate with staff in the school/district in referring families, including new or recent migrant families to specific resources to support their wellbeing Support written and oral communication between educators/community agencies and families of students who are limited in their English proficiency in order to lead to improved outcomes Collaborate with staff in the school/district to seek family input about, and strengthen participation in, parent/caregiver education offerings - Participate in a liaison role on school/district-established parent- and community-focused events and committees Establish partnerships and services that lead to improved comprehensive health services for students and their families: Collaborate with staff in the School/District to ensure that children receive regular screening and follow-up for health treatment Partner with the school/district on family meetings and workshops to educate family in the areas of child health, mental health, and development Partner with the school/district by helping parents/caregivers to establish access to consistent health care, especially as related to required medical records to reduce students excluded due to lack of immunizations/records Implement assets-based and empowering approaches to partnering with students and their families, including home visits when applicable Document referrals and progress towards goals, and follow up with families regarding referrals on a regular basis Collaborate with staff in the school/district with cultural humility Restorative and Trauma-Responsive Practices Coordinate the systems of services that lead to student, family, community healing and restoration as prevention and/or intervention as needed Make phone calls to students/families as a way to welcome and support families as they enroll and attend the school Participate in training/education about utilizing restorative practices and approaches, and disseminate information and skills learned Attend and participate in Multi-Tiered System of Support systems and structures as needed in order to develop and implement trauma-responsive and restorative systems to find and support students/families experiencing challenges
Additional Responsibilities:
Efficiently coordinate and plan with other LUCSC staff (Directors, Community Engagement Coach, Data Liaison, etc.) Coordinate, facilitate, and participate within school/district, Lewis and community teams/committees as needed; this includes participating in a liaison role on the LUCSC Advisory In coordination with external evaluator(s) and other relevant positions, support and coordinate assets/needs assessments and other data collection processes for LUCSC grant activities and reporting Perform duties as needed to create an environment that is conducive to providing students engaged learning opportunities Serve as a role model for students and community member Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred Relevant experience in education, social work, psychology, nursing, sociology, human services, or other related field preferred 2 to 3 years program management and/or case management experience strongly preferred Skills and knowledge coordinating multifaceted programming within underserved communities, especially via public education systems Desire to work in a relationship-oriented environment and strong collaboration skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent organizational skills; ability to multitask Preferred Qualifications Master's degree Spanish-language written and oral proficiency preferred Essential Duties Work hours This is a grant funded position which ends 12/31/27. The full-time, Monday through Friday, year-round at Fairmont School, 735 Green Garden Place, Lockport IL. Depending on the current activities and needs of the grant workload, hours of this job will remain flexible (i.e. there may be some later afternoon/evening hours depending on the week). When later hours are required, morning hours can shift accordingly.
