Full Job Description Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive social-emotional support to students, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and collaboration with families and staff. Professional Responsibilities Displays a high standard of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality in interactions with colleagues, students, and the Ethical and professional standards as set forth by the NASW Code of Ethics Continue to stay current with best practices in education and social work to maintain and improve professional levels of performance. Provides professional development on various mental health and prevention topics. Other responsibilities as assigned by building or district administration. Direct Services Plans and provides services for general education and students with IEPs to enhance social emotional growth that is educationally relevant and aligns with academic functioning and school performance Participates in the case study evaluation process by obtaining and /or reviewing information relative to social history, adaptive behavior and cultural background Collect, organize, and utilize data from various sources to make informed decisions, plan interventions that are consistent with curriculum, socio emotional standards, students' needs, strengths, diversity and life experiences Creates student centered goals, implements, and monitors progress using a variety of tools including performance data, observations, and interviews Provides in class, small group and/or individual instruction aligned to identified skills for students who are experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral needs in school that have an educational impact Respond to and manage student crises, providing immediate support and appropriate referrals. Engages in the de-escalation process by utilizing trauma informed practices, maintaining student dignity, and supporting the whole child. Consultation and Collaboration Provide consultation and training to teachers, parents, and other school staff on topics such as behavior management, classroom interventions, attendance, homelessness, child abuse and neglect, and crisis interventions. Consult with administrators regarding needed educational programs for children with special needs. Establishes and maintains trusting relationships and rapport with staff members to increase generalization and implementation of social emotional skills into the school setting. Data Collection and Analysis Utilize a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support to identify and support students who are at-risk. Utilize data to inform decision making and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed. Meet federal and state timelines and mandates as well as local policies in performance of their duties. Activities may include Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, Medicaid billing, report writing, service logs, and treatment plan/therapy log development. Parent and Community Engagement Establishes and maintains open communication with families for the purpose of sharing information regarding the student's social emotional and educational needs Serves as a liaison between schools and community agencies to establish and coordinate servicesMinimum Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel materials. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
