Job Description

Company Overview The Tri-County Opportunities Council Early Head Start/Head Start Program serves 483 expectant mothers and children ages birth to five in the nine Illinois Counties of Bureau, Carroll, LaSalle, Lee, Marshall, Ogle, Putnam, Stark, and Whiteside. The program offers comprehensive child and family development services to those deemed eligible. The program's primary goals are to partner with parents to promote self-esteem, increase self-confidence, and advance school readiness skills for children. Comprehensive programming includes education, medical, dental, mental health, and nutritional services; welcomes children with disabilities or special needs; and provides family education, advancement, and social service support while connecting enrolled families to community resources and transportation assistance. The program offers various options to meet the needs of children, families, and communities throughout all nine counties.

Early Head Start or Head Start:
Streator Teacher Assistant (Head Start) : 40 hrs./wk.; full-year position. Minimum of a high school diploma. Previous experience in early childhood education is preferred but not required. People with or without experience will be required to obtain a Preschool CDA within 12 months of hire and will be encouraged to obtain their associate's degree in ECE.
Starting Wage Range:
$16.10 to $19.06 Streator Lead Teacher (Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; full-year position. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a closely related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE. Previous experience in a licensed early childhood setting is desired.
Starting Wage Range:
$20.87 to $24.07 Streator Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher (Early Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; full-year position. A minimum of an AAS in Early Childhood Development, Early Childhood Education, or equivalent coursework. In addition to the above requirements, nine credits in infant-toddler studies are required. Previous experience in a licensed early childhood setting is desired.
Starting Wage Range:
$16.10 to $22.88 Streator Infant/Toddler Lead Support Teacher (Early Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; full-year position. A minimum of a CDA credential or a state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements of a CDA credential is enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate or baccalaureate degree or is enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within 12 months of hire. We will consider those willing to enroll in the CDA credentialing program or an ECE associate degree program.
Starting Wage Range:
$16.10 to $19.06 Streator Float Teacher Assistant (Early Head Start and Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; part-year position. Minimum of a high school diploma. Must hold a valid Illinois driver's license. Previous experience in early childhood education is preferred but not required. People with or without experience will be required to obtain an Infant/Toddler and Preschool CDA within 18 months of hire.

$16.10 to $19.06 Open Positions in Ottawa, IL for
Early Head Start or Head Start:
Ottawa Lead Teacher (Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; full-year position. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a closely related degree with a minimum of 21 credit hours in ECE. Previous experience in a licensed early childhood setting is desired.
Starting Wage Range:
$20.87 to $24.07 Ottawa Bus Driver/Class Aide (Head Start): 18 hrs./wk. Bus Driver and 12 hrs./wk. Class Aide; part-year position. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and an excellent driving record. Must have held a valid driver's license for at least three (3) consecutive years before hire.
Starting Wage Range:
$17.11 to $17.93 Ottawa Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher (Early Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; full-year position. A minimum of an AAS in Early Childhood Development, Early Childhood Education, or equivalent coursework. In addition to the above requirements, nine credits in infant-toddler studies are required. Previous experience in a licensed early childhood setting is desired.

LaSalle Bus Driver/Class Aide (Head Start): 18 hrs./wk. Bus Driver and 12 hrs./wk. Class Aide; part-year position. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and an excellent driving record. Must have held a valid driver's license for at least three (3) consecutive years before hire.
Starting Wage Range:
$17.11 to $17.93 LaSalle Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher (Early Head Start): 40 hrs./wk.; full-year position. A minimum of an AAS in Early Childhood Development, Early Childhood Education, or equivalent coursework. In addition to the above requirements, nine credits in infant-toddler studies are required. Location Negotiable:
Southern Area): 40 hrs./wk.; full-year position. Minimum of an associate's degree in social services, human services, public relations, marketing, early childhood education, or a closely related field.
Starting Wage Range:
$17.18 to $22.88 Family and Community Service Worker (Early Head Start and Head Start): 40 hrs./wk. full year position. Minimum of an associate's degree in social work, child and family studies, or a related degree. The applicant must obtain a Family Development Credential within 18 months of hire if degree requirements are unmet. Previous family service experience is preferred but not required. Frequent travel between Mendota and Ottawa sites and surrounding areas.
