Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of K-12 students for the upcoming academic year as a school social worker in a supportive educational community near Sycamore, IL. This contract position offers the chance to provide vital social and emotional support from August 3rd, 2026, through May 21st, 2027. You'll be part of a collaborative team focused on helping students achieve academic and personal growth, working a steady 37.5 hours each week.
Key Qualifications:
Current Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License) with a School Social Work Endorsement (required) Demonstrated experience supporting students across K-12 grade levels in a school setting Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities Compassionate approach with cultural sensitivity and adaptability Skilled in developing individualized plans and interventions to promote student well-being
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments and interventions to support students' mental health and social-emotional needs Provide individual and group counseling sessions for students facing academic, social, or behavioral challenges Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to design comprehensive support strategies Help create a safe and inclusive school environment by addressing barriers to learning Maintain thorough, confidential documentation in compliance with school policies and state regulations
