Position Overview The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Social Worker II for the Ludeman Developmental Center located in Park Forest, Illinois to administer professional social work services involving the application of social work principles and techniques in the evaluation, problem identification and treatment of adults manifesting complex emotional and psycho-social disorders. Determines and develops sources of information and services to facilitate client treatment. Essential Functions Administers professional social work services involving the application of social work principles and techniques in the evaluation, problem identification and treatment of adults manifesting complex emotional and psycho-social disorders. Evaluates clinical problems of individuals. Develops treatment strategies and evaluates group, individual and family counseling sessions. As part of a treatment team, identifies options for best practice treatment interventions in lieu of restraint/seclusion. Evaluates community provider services for future placement in light of needs of individuals. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires a master's degree in social work from a recognized college or university supplemented by one (1) year of professional social work experience in the evaluation and treatment/habilitation of mentally ill, developmentally disabled or other disabled persons. This class is included as an Upward Mobility Program credential title. Conditions of Employment Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays. Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers. Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires the ability to physically restrain individuals as necessary to prevent injury to individual or others. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
