In this role, you'll be an essential part of the team responsible for preparing, serving, and maintaining a safe and clean cafeteria space. Your energy and attention to detail will ensure that every meal service runs smoothly, fostering a positive dining experience for young learners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills, gain hospitality experience, and contribute to the health and well-being of our students. Duties Prepare and assemble nutritious meals in accordance with food safety standards and dietary guidelines Serve food efficiently using proper food handling techniques, ensuring portions meet school requirements Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing work surfaces, utensils, and equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately during meal transactions and manage meal account balances Assist with food distribution at meal times, ensuring smooth flow and timely service for all students Handle manual tasks such as weighing ingredients or food items while adhering to weight handling safety protocols Support catering or special event setups, including banquet-style meals or school functions, demonstrating versatility in food service Experience Previous experience in food handling, catering, or restaurant service is highly desirable Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in a commercial kitchen setting Experience working in fine dining or hospitality environments adds valuable insight into customer service excellence Knowledge of culinary techniques, including food preparation and presentation skills gained through restaurant or culinary experience Experience with POS systems for efficient transaction processing and customer interaction Ability to handle weight safely in the workplace while managing food supplies or equipment This role requires a proactive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
