Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Office of the Fayette County Sheriff seeks to hire a Dating Violence Prevention Coordinator to work in Amanda's Center for Local Resources. Amanda's Center is a domestic and interpersonal violence intake center. The center acts as a safe place as well as a central information point for victims, providing information on services available within the community. DUTIES The Dating Violence Prevention Coordinator will develop and implement programs collaborating with community partners and forge new relationships within the community to advance dating violence programing. The Dating Violence Prevention Coordinator will be knowledgeable in the warning signs of unhealthy relationships and how to disrupt and prevent the pattern of intimate partner violence. The Dating Violence Prevention Coordinator will become an effective educator capable of highlighting the very real experiences that teens and young adults face but rarely discuss and present actionable steps to notice and prevent the signs of an unhealthy relationship. The Dating Violence Prevention Coordinator will collect and analyze data and maintain statistical information for reporting. The Dating Violence Prevention Coordinator will expand current dating violence programing.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and shall not have been convicted of a felony offense. Have not been terminated or forced to resign within the twelve months preceding the submission of the application. A Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice; Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or other human services field is preferred. Four (4) years of experience in a human service field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered in the absence of a Bachelor's Degree. Have been a law abiding citizen and maintained a law-abiding lifestyle. Must be dependable, organized, and detail-oriented. Must be compassionate and be able to express empathy with diverse populations.
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
