To Be Determined Job Description Join us for the 2026-2027 school year! Shepherdsville Elementary School (SES) is seeking an energetic and engaged person to create and coordinate a vibrant volunteer program at our school. SES is looking for a motivated, positive individual to provide specialized services for SES in relation to parents and/or the community at large.
Duties:
Provides specialized services for an assigned program involving the school, district, and students in relation to the community and parents. Surveys local community for the availability of volunteers to assist teachers in various school-related programs. Makes personal contact with potential volunteer recruits by letter, telephone visit or group meeting. Acquaints teachers, both as individuals and in group sessions, with the theory and positive aspects of having a school volunteer program. Requests and utilizes suggestions from principals and teachers for a well organized, consistent volunteer program. Develops and distributes program material and literature to inform the community and parents of the volunteer program. Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; follows-up on specific cases as necessary. Coordinates meetings and special gatherings in support of volunteer programs. Serves as a liaison between the school and students, support groups, parents and others. Plans, organizes and implements a volunteer program for a school. Arranges periodic conferences with each volunteer, teacher and the principal to determine successes and problems. 12. Arranges for periodic recognition of volunteers for services given. 13. Assist with health records.

177 days per year 170 school days 7 planning days
Contract Adjustments:
Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date

Education:
High school diploma or GED
Documentation:
Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire. Compensation & Experience Credit Starting Pay (Step 0): $16.46/hour Experienced Pay (Step 10): $17.78/hour
Payroll Note:
While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.
Salary Formula:
