Must have a bachelors degree in a human service related field. The EarlySteps provides services to families with infants and toddlers aged birth to three years (36 months) who have a medical condition likely to result in a developmental delay, or who have developmental delays. Children with delays in cognitive, motor, vision, hearing, communication, social-emotional or adaptive development may be eligible for services. EarlySteps services are designed to improve the family's capacity to enhance their child's development. These services are provided in the child's natural environment, such as the child's home, child care or any other community setting typical for children aged birth to 3 years (36 months). You will be required to have reliable transportation for meetings outside of the office and willing to travel in the East Baton Rouge region. You must be able to work in a fast-paced office, be susceptible to change, excellent multi-task, and maintain a professional and caring attitude at all time. The functions of the this role include, but are not limited to: Maintaining documentation of ongoing services that includes meeting notifications, notices of action, IFSP reviews, annual evaluations and new IFSPs, key correspondence (letters/emails to parents or providers, documentation of phone conversations regarding requests to change providers, change dates of meetings, etc,) and consents to release information in each enrolled child's early intervention record. Coordinate services via in person, telephone, e-mail and handwritten reports and letters with the families and individuals Research and maintain a file of community resources Develop a working rapport with all early intervention providers, including: Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Speech Therapist, Special Instructor, Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Counselor, Durable Medical Equipment Provider, and any other provider who works with children Obtain and review early intervention provider reports and distribute accordingly Compile quarterly/monthly/annual reports detailing review of early intervention progress notes Coordinate and serve as Team Leader for the plan of care meetings • Great Job for graduate students or retirees. Travel to family homes or designated community areas for quarterly visits Make monthly contact with families (phone, face to face) •Keep ongoing case notes regarding all contact with each family or provider

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a human services field, from a field-specific accredited institution including: Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, Education, Counseling, Child Life/Family Studies, Child Development, Family and Consumer Sciences, Social Services or Sociology, Philosophy, Substance Abuse, Vocational Rehabilitation. OR Bachelor's degree in liberal arts or general studies with 16 hours on a field listed above.
