Children's Advocacy Network is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing services to children and caregivers through our CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program, CAC (Children's Advocacy Center) program, and Trauma Therapy program.
Position Description:
Children's Advocacy Network is looking to hire a talented, motivated, and passionate individual as a CASA Advocate Coordinator in our Jena, LA office (covering Lasalle, Catahoula, and Concordia Parishes). The Advocate Coordinator will help recruit, screen, train, and supervise community volunteers in our CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program, who provide advocacy to children in foster care in Central Louisiana. The Advocate Coordinator is primarily responsible for managing volunteer advocate activities directly relating to case management. The Advocate Coordinator will provide direction to individual volunteers and substitute for the volunteer as required. The Advocate Coordinator will be present at all court hearings and case staffings. Additional duties include participation in recruiting and public affairs events that advance the mission of Children's Advocacy Network. Some travel may be required.
Qualifications:
Louisiana driver's license; Reliable transportation; Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of related professional work experience and college; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Strong administrative, organization, and public relations skills; Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and similar programs; Experience with use of computer database/case management systems; Experience with volunteers, or in volunteer-based organizations; Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis, especially as it relates to child abuse and neglect; Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with partner organizations and individuals; Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, team environment; Ability to receive and apply constructive feedback from team members and supervisors; Clean background check.
