This vacancy is located in the Calcasieu Parish Child Welfare Office in Lake Charles, LA. We're looking for an Administrative Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact at the agency in our Child Welfare Office in Calcasieu Parish, creating a welcoming environment for clients and visitors and providing administrative support that keeps our front office running smoothly. This position provides clerical, programmatic, and administrative support functions for staff, applicants and clients of the Calcasieu Parish Child Welfare office.

Following Policies and Procedures :

Job Duties:
Assistant to Child Welfare Program Case Manager in CPI, Foster Care, Family Services, Adoptions, and Home Development programs. Directly assists case managers. Must be able to make decisions and function independently in order to properly carry out duties related to this position. Responsible for accessing Tracking Information Payment System (TIPS) and ACESS through the terminal processor to search current and/or previous involvement in programs to cross reference any duplicate entries or assignment of case data reported for abuse and/or neglect complaints. Responsible for inputting information in TIPS on child(ren) coming into the primary programs and parents for tracking and payment purposes; updates client changes. Sets up case records on child(ren) coming into State's custody and the parent(s) of the children Research Medicaid system for child(ren) in State custody and facilitate opening child in Medicaid if not already. Perform clearance in MEDS for all programs. Performs other clerical duties as assigned.

Appointment Type:
This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
Career Progression:
This position may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1-3, depending on selected applicant.
Work Schedule:
Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
