POSITION
School Social Worker - .5 at Brackett Elementary and .5 at Hardy Elementary
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other licensed Mental Health Field
LICSW, LCSW, LMHC
in Massachusetts School Social Worker/Adjustment Counselor License Experience working with elementary school students, supporting social emotional and behavioral health Experience working in a therapeutic and/or school setting Experience with culturally responsive pedagogy and practices
REPORTS TO
School Principal and Director of School Counseling
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Individual and group therapy with identified students 2. Consultation with staff including coaching and professional development on social/emotional curricula 3. Parent trainings and outreach 4. Clinical crisis intervention, including assessment and facilitation of hospitalizations when necessary 5. Case Management 6. Participation in student IEP/Team Meetings 7. Other duties as assigned by the School Principal and Special Education Coordinator

Ability to support improved academic achievement for targeted students Full time, 183-day, School Year Position Salary and Benefits are consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association. The Salary Schedule is on our website. Salary placement is based on Education and Experience. Arlington has a well-established new teacher induction program with mentoring throughout the school year. The first official work day in the 2026-2027 school year will be August 31, 2026. However, new staff are required to attend several days of orientation and training during the last two weeks of August.
