Job Description

PCSS, a high performing charter school network with campuses in Everett, Saugus, and Beverly, is looking for School Social Worker for the 2026-2027 school year. The School Social Worker provides social, emotional, and personal support to students. The School Social Worker supports the school's educational goals and contributes to ensuring students' physical, social, emotional, and intellectual well-being. Students may meet individually or in small groups with the SSW, though services may include meetings with parents, teachers, administrators, or community health providers to address concerns that may potentially affect a student's success in school. The SSW conducts various educational/ psychological assessments, participates in various school conferences, makes home visits, initiates phone contacts with parents and agency personnel, and provides assistance to staff on various issues. The SSW also works to support a positive and successful school environment.
Responsibilities include:
Plan, organize and deliver the counseling services, aligning services with individual student's IEP and/or 504 Accommodation Plans. Implement individual planning interventions in collaboration with other student allies (e.g. develop educational/career plans for students; conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments for students; develop School-Based Support Plans for students; facilitate 504 Accommodation team meetings and develop 504 Accommodation plans). Actively participate in various conferences including, but not limited to: student re-entry meetings; Special Education Team meetings; grade-level team meetings; subject area meetings. Administer educational and psychological assessments as called for by educational teams. Facilitate student groups in response to needs (eg, social skills group, executive functions skills). Comply with all regulations and laws, including those related to bullying in schools. Coordinate referrals of students for school-based counseling by outside counselors. Maintain accurate records; collect and analyze school counseling services data. Conduct ongoing program evaluation and audit.

Provide individual student and school-wide crisis intervention as needed. Communicate and collaborate extensively with families, outside agencies, and other student allies. Perform other duties as assigned.
