Job Description

Who We Are Children s Services of Roxbury (CSR) is one of Massachusetts oldest nonprofits, supporting over 6,000 children and parents across the Commonwealth every year. For nearly 50 years, we ve kept the family at the center of everything we do through housing, behavioral health services, foster care, childcare, and youth development. The Role As a Family Support and Stabilization (FSS) Specialist, you ll partner with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to work directly inside the homes of families facing real, complex challenges helping them build the skills, stability, and resources they need to stay together or safely reunify. You bring hands-on coaching and advocacy; we bring the training, supervision, and mission-driven team to support you in doing it well. What You ll Do Conduct 1-2 weekly home visits, providing concrete support, coaching, and a plan tailored to each family s goals. Help families navigate education, employment, medical, housing, and legal resources including scheduling appointments and completing applications. Collaborate weekly with DCF, Lead Agency partners, and other providers to keep care coordinated and on track. Step in with advocacy and crisis support when families need it most from emergencies to school meetings to court hearings. Maintain accurate, timely documentation of visits, assessments, and progress notes. Meet weekly with your Supervisor for support, guidance, and case consultation. What You ll Bring Required Bachelor s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field; or 5+ years of direct case management or counseling experience. At least 1 year of experience working with or supporting families or children with diverse needs. Strong verbal and written communication, time-management, and documentation skills. Comfort with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Teams) and a flexible, collaborative approach to the work. Preferred Bilingual capacity, Cape Verdean Creole, Spanish or Haitian Creole.
