Director of Faith Formation (FT)

Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Sharon, Massachusetts is home to more than 900 families. We are a vibrant and welcoming Catholic community with a strong culture of faith, service, and engagement. We are seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Director of Faith Formation to lead, coordinate, and grow our parish's faith formation initiatives for children, youth, and adults. Position Overview The Director of Faith Formation is responsible for the overall oversight, development, and execution of parish faith formation programs from PreK through Confirmation, as well as the coordination of adult faith formation and youth ministry initiatives. This full-time position, at the parish office in Sharon, reports to the Pastor and collaborates closely with parish staff, catechists, volunteers, and families. Primary Responsibilities Children, Middle School, and Confirmation Formation Develop and oversee the PreK-5, Middle School, and Confirmation programs. Lead parent orientations, sacramental preparation, retreats, and special programs. Recruit, train, and support catechists (PreK-5), peer ministers, and adult facilitators (Middle School & Confirmation). Teach Middle School and Confirmation classes and coordinate all related retreats. Coordinate the celebration of the Confirmation Mass. Supervise the Coordinator of Faith Formation and collaborate on Grade 2 sacramental preparation, the Advent Workshop, service projects, and Middle School social events. Oversee the Youth Commission and assist in planning and executing youth social events and service initiatives. Coordinate Youth Ministry Alumni events to maintain engagement with past participants. Adult Faith Formation Serve as staff liaison to the Faith Formation Commission and coordinate parish adult faith formation offerings (Zoom programs, speaker series, senior lunches, etc.). Act as staff liaison and facilitator for parish groups including the Book Club, Small Community of Faith, and the Catholic Social Teaching Discussion Group. Child Safety Compliance Assist the Office Manager with compliance related to the Archdiocese of Boston's Child Safety Program, including collecting and tracking Volunteer Agreements, Codes of Conduct, and CORI documentation.
