Immediately Job Description South Middle School is seeking a certified staff member or paraprofessional from the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Program to support the development and implementation of Educational Library Etiquette Instruction for middle school students enrolled in the program. The selected candidate will assist students in building appropriate social, behavioral, and academic skills needed to successfully navigate school and community library environments while promoting literacy, independence, and respectful community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in designing and delivering lessons on library etiquette and expectations, including:
  • Appropriate voice levels and public behavior
  • Respect for shared spaces and materials
  • Understanding borrowing procedures and responsibilities
  • Digital literacy and appropriate technology use
  • Work with the Therapeutic Support Counselor to develop lessons
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with middle school students
  • Background in Social Emotional Learning, Special Education, or literacy support
  • Familiarity with library systems or school library programming
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to support students with behavioral or emotional needs
  • Passion for student growth, literacy, and community engagement
