Aug 24, 2026 Job Description Join our team as an After School Inclusion Aide—a role perfect for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented, fast-paced environment where equity and meaningful participation are essential. This part-time position is ideal for a compassionate, skilled professional ready to support our after-school program and ensure all youth have access to enrichment opportunities. Working under the direct guidance of the Inclusion Coordinator and Site Supervisor, you'll provide individualized support using evidence-based strategies, manage social-emotional and behavioral needs, promote skill development, and demonstrate the sound judgment and discretion needed to foster a welcoming and genuinely inclusive environment while upholding Milton Community Schools' standards and values. This position includes a leadership component requiring the ability to collaborate with staff, teachers, and site leadership to sustain program operations and support youth success.
Position Details:
  • Type:
    Part-time for the 2026-2027 school year (while school is in session, end of August
  • mid-June)
  • Schedule:
    Monday through Friday, 2:30-5:30 p.m. or 3:00-6:00 p.m. (schedule determined by assigned site)
  • Candidates must be available to commit to a minimum of 3 days per week, with preference given to those with 5-day availability.
Program needs and support requirements determine specific day-and-time assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and provide comprehensive support to youth during all after-school programming activities to maintain a safe, welcoming, and Inclusive environment. Provide continuous proximity support and direct oversight to identified participants requiring targeted support.
  • Support youth through transitions between sequential activities to minimize disruption and maintain program flow. Monitor overall youth participation, engagement, safety, and well-being throughout all program hours.
  • Implement evidence-based behavioral support practices and provide reasonable accommodations to support youth with diverse academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental needs. Promote Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) frameworks and strategies to reinforce program-wide behavioral expectations.
  • Model positive, professional behavior and articulate clear expectations; employ proactive, strength-based techniques to guide and redirect youth behavior. Support youth through active supervision, guidance, and strategic prompting, while using positive reinforcement to foster prosocial behaviors and develop social skills.
  • Support & coach program staff in planning, implementing, and monitoring individualized behavioral interventions and support strategies. Provide real-time coaching and guidance to staff regarding behavior management techniques and de-escalation strategies.
  • Implement evidence-based behavioral support practices and provide reasonable accommodations to support youth with diverse academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental needs. Ensure equitable access for all youth to participate fully in all program offerings and activities.
  • Foster social-emotional development and growth through intentional daily interactions, targeted individualized supports, and strategic integration of social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies into all programming components
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely records of youth participation, behavioral observations, and program activities as assigned. Report significant incidents, safety concerns, and behavioral observations promptly and professionally to the site supervisor and inclusion coordinator.
  • Maintain consistent, professional communication with the site supervisor, program staff, inclusion coordinator, classroom teachers, and program administration. Communicate effectively and professionally with participants, families, and all colleagues to promote positive relationships and program cohesion.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, inclusion-focused trainings, professional development opportunities, and ongoing learning initiatives
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe program spaces and activity areas
  • Ensure adherence to program
  • and site-specific safety, sanitation, and health protocols, as well as execute emergency response protocols with fidelity.
  • Occasional implementation of activities & social groups as directed by the supervisor or inclusion coordinator.
Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by site leadership and maintain all required documentation.

  • Associate degree (Related field: Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Human Services, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, the Arts).
  • Have a minimum of three years of demonstrated experience working with children between the ages of 5 and 11 years in a camp, after-school, and/or classroom setting.
  • Preferred experience in working with children from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds, as well as children with special needs.
  • Citizenship, residency, or a work visa is required.
  • Availability during school vacation (Winter and Spring break) and district-wide Early Dismissal Days preferred.
  • All prospective staff will be required to undergo background checks and be fingerprinted.
This position requires staff to obtain Safety-Care® specialist certification, a competency-based crisis prevention and de-escalation training program. All employees must complete in-house training administered by our certified trainer and pass the certification assessment. Ongoing certification maintenance is required. Candidates should ensure they meet these certification requirements before applying.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, walk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to run during play or in response to an emergency. Employees are frequently required to engage with children on the floor and at their eye level. Employees are frequently required to use their hands and arms to handle and manipulate objects, as well as reach. Vision is required for supervising children.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to very loud. The work environment includes indoor classrooms and outdoor playgrounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Salary:
Compensation is competitive and will be determined by experience and education; starting rate: $27.81/hour. At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. Associate degree preferred.
