POSITION
Long-Term Substitute Educational Learning Center (ELC) Coordinator 2026-2027 School Year Shrewsbury Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a Long-Term Substitute ELC Coordinator at Sherwood Middle School. This position would begin with the start of the school year and will last through November 2, 2026, with a possibility to extend. The LTS ELC Coordinator would support students with intensive special needs, including students with autism spectrum disorders and global developmental delays. The LTS ELC Coordinator would be responsible for implementing programming for students in a substantially separate setting to acquire skills through direct instruction and support students in the inclusion setting to access the curriculum and generalize skills. The ELC Coordinator works collaboratively with other team members to coordinate all services for students in the program. The pay rate is $280 per full day worked. We are interested in candidates who are invested in the achievement, equity, and access of all learners in and beyond the classroom and have experience working in various models of special education (inclusion, co-taught, substantially separate).   • Implement specialized instruction in areas of academic skills, social skills, and behavior management in small-group and classroom settings
  • Create and implement behavior plans guided by the principles of applied behavior analysis
  • Consult with and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (i.e., classroom teachers, SPL, OT, home service providers) regarding progress, goals, instruction, and behavior plans
  • Inclusion supports ensuring the carryover and generalization of skills
  • Develop and support inclusion opportunities along with regular education teachers
  • Supervise paraeducators by providing direction, training for behavior intervention plans and teaching strategies (i.e., DTT, TA, picture activity schedule), and data collection
  • Create classroom schedules for staff and students
  • Manage daily schedule for paraeducators, including the coverage and delegation of duties
  • Act as a direct liaison to parents (support, education, updates)
  • Develop and implement IEP's for students
  • Collect and analyze data related to both academic and behavioral performance
  • Administer, write, and interpret student evaluations
  • Demonstrate the ability to impact and document student academic progress positively
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with parents/caretakers and colleagues
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the principles of applied behavior analysis and ways to support student growth within each competency Preferred Qualifications include:
  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license in Severe Special Education, PreK-12; BCBA track or licensure preferred
  • Previous experience working with students with intensive special needs, including students with low-incidence disabilities, global developmental delay, and autism spectrum disorders
  • Experience supervising, training, and providing ongoing feedback to a group of 10+ paraeducator support staff
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset dedicated to inclusive practices for students with high-need
  • Ability to positively impact and document student academic progress at varying access and entry points
  • Excellent communication skills with parents/caretakers and colleagues
  • Experience developing and implementing function-based interventions
  • Demonstrates strong collaboration skills
  • Strong knowledge of middle school student needs and programming
  • Exhibits the values of Shrewsbury Public Schools
  • Must be able to work flexibly in a changing environment
