Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker (MSW/LCSW-C) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health and behavioral support to individuals across diverse populations, including children, adults, and the elderly. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes through clinical counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and collaborative care planning. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine individual needs and develop tailored treatment plans. Deliver evidence-based clinical counseling using modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy to address mental health concerns. Provide specialized child & family counseling, including working with children with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder, utilizing applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques when appropriate. Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on behavioral health, addiction counseling, PTSD care, and crisis management. Collaborate with medical teams to ensure accurate documentation within electronic medical records (EMR systems), adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining detailed medical records and notes. Engage in case management activities—coordinating care with community resources, conducting home visits when necessary, and supporting patients through hospital transitions or geriatrics care plans. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster patient engagement and promote positive behavioral change. Participate in clinical research initiatives by collecting data, analyzing outcomes, and contributing to ongoing studies related to mental health and behavioral health interventions. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding systems for accurate billing and documentation purposes. Experience Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program; licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) or equivalent required. Proven experience in clinical mental health counseling within hospital or community settings preferred. Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities highly desirable. Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and data collection; experience with medical records management is a plus. Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies, trauma-informed care practices, and addiction counseling techniques. Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance standards along with medical terminology relevant to behavioral health services. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using
ICD-9/10
coding systems; experience with CPT coding for billing purposes is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for engaging patients across age groups—including pediatrics and geriatrics—and collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
