Job Description

Position Summary Coordinates the activities and committees associated with the Cecil County Family Violence Coordinating Council and the Court Watch Program. Plan and facilitate training on a variety of topics related to family violence. Act as a liaison between victim services programs and other systems responding to family violence issues. Collect, compile, and analyze data related to family violence in order to inform services and illuminate current trends. Position Responsibilities 1. Act as a liaison for various agencies that form the system of services for victims of family violence. Agencies include but are not limited to law enforcement, the Department of Social Services, Parole and Probation, The Bridge, the local hospital, the Department of Emergency Services, the State's Attorney's Office and the judiciary. 2. Oversee the Lethality Assessment Program to include providing training to those professionals who will administer the tool, collecting the completed screens from partnering agencies and forwarding them to The Bridge for follow up. Address deficiencies in administration of the lethality assessment tool with partnering agencies. Must be able to track outcomes and report on effectiveness of project both on a local and state level. 3. Act as the chairperson of the Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team. Track domestic related homicides that occur in Cecil County. 4. Act as the chairperson for the local Sexual Assault Response Team. 5. Serve as a liaison between the courts and Abuser Intervention Program (AIP) provider to facilitate referrals and track information regarding participation and completion of services; provide information about the AIP program. 6. Track and record outcomes of all cases in district and circuit court that involve domestic violence or the violation of a protection order as part of the Court Watch Program; produce annual report with information garnered from collected data. 7. Provide educational presentations to community professionals to include law enforcement, first responders, hospital staff, etc. on family violence related topics. 8. Facilitate Domestic Violence Multidisciplinary Team meetings twice a month. Document and track cases discussed. 9. Collect data and analyze statistics related to domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and human trafficking to identify trends and possible gaps in services. Assist in completing quarterly grant reports and annual grant applications using the information from the analysis of data. 10. Maintain a collaborative relationship with the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence to provide statistical submissions, attend statewide work groups, and have an awareness of statewide initiatives. 11. Coordinate meetings of the local Family Violence Coordinating Council. Report activities of the various committees and maintain routine communication with the Council. Identify and recommend improvements, and gaps in services.
