This position is responsible for working directly with the families of children enrolled in Head Start and Early Head Start programs throughout Garrett County, MD. The successful applicant must be able to broadly assess family needs and coordinate access to local services and programs. There is an immediate opening in the Accident and Friendsville, MD area, but applications can be reviewed for 6 months for positions throughout Garrett County.
The successful candidate will:
- Coach families to create realistic goal plans, help achieve and track progress towards goals and make adjustments to plans as needed.
- Input a wide range of family data into the agency's client database.
- Be responsible for understanding the range of services and programs available within the agency along with throughout the community and ensure clients are receiving eligible services to help them succeed.
- Work with classroom and school staff to understand the holistic needs of children and families enrolled in the program.
- Provide case management coordination with a team of specialists for children and families in crisis as needed.
This is a permanent, full year, full-time position with a Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm schedule with an hour paid lunch break. Some evenings may be required. With an hourly rate of pay ranging from $17.29 to $28.51 per hour based on experience, this position also offers paid holidays, vacation days and sick days prorated based upon hours worked. We provide a life insurance policy and, for employees working a minimum of 10 hours per week, we provide participation in the Maryland State Retirement and Pension system.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with an AA degree in a field related to Social Work or Human Development preferred.
