Immediately Job Description SALARY Commensurate with certification/licensure and experience based on the Wicomico County Salary Scale for Teachers. HOURS 10 months, 190 days
Contract Unit:
This position is part of the Teacher's (Unit I) bargaining unit.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold or be eligible for a Maryland professional certificate/license in Early Childhood and/or Elementary Education. Master's degree preferred but not required. At least five (5) years of satisfactory teaching experience. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff. Demonstrated leadership capabilities that motivate and inspire others. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing a Multi-Tiered Supports (MTSS) to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students through data-informed decision-making and targeted interventions. Proficient in applying tiered behavioral supports, including de-escalation techniques, restorative practices, and behavior intervention planning, in alignment with Wicomico County Public Schools (WCPS) policies and best practices.
Responsibilities:
Assist in observing student behavior in the homeschool environment to identify target behaviors and support the development of individualized goals to be addressed within the alternative setting. Develop and implement targeted Behavior Intervention Plans based on individual student needs. Model effective behavioral strategies and responses for staff and provide real-time coaching and feedback during implementation. Design and implement individualized coaching cycles that support the professional growth of educators. Collect and analyze data on student behavior, academic performance, and engagement to drive instruction and intervention planning. Apply the Multi-Tiered System of Support framework to provide proactive, tiered interventions that support students' academic, behavioral, and emotional development. Facilitate smooth transitions for students entering the Alternative Education Program and returning to their home schools. Deliver comprehensive professional development to staff responsible for implementing behavioral plans to ensure consistency and fidelity. Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners to collaboratively support student success. Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by school administration.
