Job Description
Florence House, one of Preble Street's Housing First programs, provides comprehensive supportive services, shelter, and permanent housing for women 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Florence House currently has an available Housing first Caseworker position with a daytime schedule. The Housing First Caseworker assists tenants in meeting housing goals and maintaining housing stability by offering casework services, outreaching and engaging with clients and tenants, providing program coverage and maintaining safety in program spaces, providing crisis intervention and support to women who are currently experiencing or have previously experienced homelessness.
Schedule:
Tuesday - Saturday 7am-3:30pm Qualifications for the Housing First Caseworker position include: Combination of relevant work experience, education, and/or training to perform the work of the Housing First Caseworker. Bachelor's degree in social work or related field and/or qualifications as required for CCM services under MaineCare Section 13, preferred. Understanding of and alignment with Preble Street's mission and positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty, and a commitment to providing low-barrier services. Mental Health Support Specialist (MHSS-1) certification is required and can be obtained on the job/after hire.Required skills and knowledge include:
Strong communication, de-escalation, and crisis intervention skills. Familiarity with community resources. Organizational skills and the ability to maintain documentation of services. Ability to work with and maintain professional boundaries with diverse populations. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Ability to regularly work a full-time schedule, with consistent and reliable attendance. Compensation and Benefits The hourly rate of pay for these full-time (40 hours/week) positions is $23.12 per hour. Direct service positions in 24/7 programs are also eligible for shift differentials $1 per hour for all hours worked between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm.
