Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Take on a meaningful role as a Social Worker supporting students across a local educational setting for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position focuses on providing critical social-emotional support during scheduled maternity leaves, with coverage needed for up to 12 weeks beginning in August, as well as additional periods in October and November. Expect a full-time schedule, working up to 40 hours per week, ensuring continuity of care and advocacy for the school community.
Key Qualifications:
Active and current school social work certification is required (please provide certification upon application) Previous experience in school-based or educational social work settings is strongly preferred Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills for collaborating with students, staff, and families Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing needs within the school environment Commitment to supporting students' social, emotional, and behavioral well-being
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide short-term and ongoing social work services for students during staff maternity leaves Conduct assessments, create intervention plans, and support crisis intervention as needed Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to promote positive student outcomes Maintain clear, thorough documentation in accordance with school and district requirements Participate in team meetings, IEPs, and parent conferences as necessary Foster a welcoming and supportive climate for students and families This contract position offers a secure, full-time schedule—up to 40 hours per week—across a dynamic school year.
