Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic environment supporting high school students as a School Social Worker this fall. This contract opportunity covers a maternity leave, with the potential for continued assignments based on performance, as the organization services multiple districts and anticipates ongoing needs. Located near Brighton, MI, you'll make a meaningful difference during a pivotal time in students' lives.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid School Social Work (SSW - 310) certification required Previous experience working with students in a high school setting preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and sensitivity Adaptability and resourcefulness in fast-paced school environments Passion for supporting student well-being and fostering a positive learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
Provide social-emotional support, crisis intervention, and counseling to high school students Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop effective strategies for student success Conduct assessments, maintain documentation, and develop individualized intervention plans Address barriers to learning through targeted support and community resource referrals Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to a safe, inclusive school culture Maintain clear and timely communication with stakeholders about student progress and needs This position offers the unique opportunity to impact lives while building valuable experience in a collaborative school setting.
