Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract A School Social Worker opportunity is available for the 2026-2027 school year in a surrounding area in Michigan. This full-time, itinerant position involves supporting PreK-12 students by providing social work services, behavioral support, evaluations, and collaboration with school teams to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans. Conduct evaluations and assessments to support student needs and eligibility processes. Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, staff, and families to support student success. Provide social-emotional and behavioral support for students across multiple grade levels. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines. Support positive school environments that promote student growth and well-being.
Qualifications:
Valid Michigan School Social Worker Certification required. Valid Michigan Social Work License required. Experience working with PreK-12 students in school-based settings preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while managing an itinerant caseload and schedule. Commitment to supporting students' academic, behavioral, and emotional development.
