MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct social-emotional and behavioral support services to students through individual counseling, small-group interventions, and classroom-based support. Facilitate and support the implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework to promote student success. Establish and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders through effective communication and partnership. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), conduct Section 504 evaluations, and develop and implement appropriate intervention plans and accommodations. Promote positive behavior and mental health by teaching and reinforcing skills related to peer relationships, problem-solving, anger management, conflict resolution, coping strategies, and resilience. Participate in diagnostic, assessment, and educational planning teams, providing expertise and assessment data to support students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Serve as a liaison between home and school, connecting families with appropriate resources and increasing family engagement in student success. Coordinate and collaborate with community agencies and outside support providers to develop a comprehensive network of care for students and families. Serve as an active member of the district crisis response team, supporting prevention, intervention, and recovery efforts. Maintain professional competence through ongoing professional development, participation in professional organizations, attendance at workshops and conferences, and review of current research and best practices in the field. This position requires regular and reliable in-person attendance.
