Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in students' lives by supporting both their academic and social-emotional development as a full-time 1:1 Paraeducator with a focus on school-based social work. This contract position offers the unique opportunity to work closely with a student, ensuring personalized attention and fostering growth in a supportive educational setting.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field (Master's preferred) Valid state certification or licensure for school social work Prior experience in a school-based setting is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, staff, and families Exceptional communication skills and ability to advocate for student needs Strong organizational and collaboration abilities Experience supporting special education or diverse learner populations is a plus Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver one-on-one support to a designated student as a Paraeducator, focusing on both educational and socio-emotional goals Implement strategies developed by school social workers and special education teams to foster student engagement and success Monitor and document student progress, communicating effectively with all stakeholders Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and individualized programming as needed Support the student in developing coping skills, self-advocacy, and peer relationships Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Promote an inclusive, nurturing learning environment This position is perfect for compassionate professionals ready to blend their social work expertise with hands-on classroom support.
