Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Middle School Competitive Cheer Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cheerleading and coaching, with the ability to inspire and develop young athletes. This seasonal position involves overseeing the cheerleading program, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive and competitive spirit among the students. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive cheerleading program that includes skill development, choreography, and competition preparation.
- Plan and conduct daily practices, ensuring that all athletes are engaged and progressing in their skills.
- Organize and lead team meetings to discuss goals, expectations, and team dynamics.
- Prepare the team for competitions, including scheduling events, arranging transportation, and coordinating logistics.
- Teach proper cheerleading techniques, stunts, and safety protocols to all team members.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and collaboration.
- Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team progress, schedules, and any concerns.
- Monitor athletes' physical and emotional well-being, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all school and league policies regarding cheerleading and athletics.
- Assist in fundraising efforts and community outreach to support the cheerleading program. Requirements
- Previous experience in cheerleading, coaching, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cheerleading techniques, choreography, and safety practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire middle school students.
- Ability to work effectively with parents, school staff, and the community.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and schedules.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
- Must pass a background check as per school district requirements.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends for practices and competitions throughout the season.
- A passion for youth sports and a commitment to developing athletes both on and off the field.
