Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting elementary students as a School Social Worker for a full-time, contract position running from September 8th through December. This short-term leave assignment invites you to make a meaningful impact within a vibrant educational setting, fostering growth and resilience among young learners. Located near Dearborn, MI, you will support a dedicated team, helping students navigate challenges and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Qualifications:
Valid School Social Worker (SSW) license or certification required Relevant experience working in elementary school settings preferred Thorough understanding of social-emotional learning and child development Strong ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and families Skilled in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and counseling techniques Excellent communication and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct counseling and intervention services to elementary students Develop and implement individualized student support plans Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to identify student needs Facilitate small groups and classroom sessions focusing on social and emotional skills Conduct assessments, maintain detailed records, and prepare reports as needed Support students in crisis situations and connect families with community resources
