Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students across PreK-12th grade as a School Social Worker in a contract position for the 26/27 school year. This full-time, itinerant role will have you collaborating closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to provide expert support to students in need, including behavior plan assistance, attending IEP meetings, and conducting evaluations. Engage with diverse school communities and contribute to positive educational outcomes for students. What you'll bring: Valid Michigan School Social Worker Certification. Active Michigan Social Worker License (LLMSW, LMSW, or LCSW). Experience working in a school-based setting is preferred. Strong skills in building relationships with students, families, and fellow educators. Expertise in developing and supporting behavior plans. Proficiency in providing comprehensive evaluations. Ability to operate as an itinerant professional, serving multiple sites as needed. Proven commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments.
Key responsibilities:
Provide direct support and interventions to students across PreK-12th grade. Collaborate with educational staff, administration, and families. Develop, monitor, and assist in implementing behavior intervention plans. Attend and participate actively in IEP meetings. Conduct student evaluations and support compliance with regulations. Serve as an advocate, resource, and liaison for students' social-emotional needs. Compensation for this opportunity is between $40 and $47 per hour, depending on experience.
