Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract assignment working with K-12 students, making a positive impact in school settings near Fenton, MI for the 2026-2027 academic year (August 17th through June 11th). This opportunity allows you to support special education students through intervention, small groups, and one-on-one engagement.
Key Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution Fully licensed (SW or MSW Limited License) Active LARA license required Holds at least one: Preliminary School Social Worker Certificate (PSSWC), Professional School Social Worker Certificate (PSWC), or a School Social Worker Permit (SSWP) MDE School Social Worker Approval Comfortable working onsite, serving a K-12 caseload Able to provide official university transcripts before submission
Core Responsibilities:
Identify, assess, and evaluate students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs for proper intervention Design and implement individual and group behavioral management plans Collaborate with educators, administrators, and community partners to foster success in academics and social development Provide counseling for special education students to address a range of challenges Participate actively in IEP meetings, assessments, and parent conferences Assist families in understanding and participating in their child's school experience, including conducting home visits as needed Report suspected cases of child abuse/neglect, and implement crisis intervention strategies This contract position averages 35 hours per week, offering the chance to meaningfully influence student outcomes across diverse communities.
