Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. This full-time contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year offers a chance to provide crucial support for students, families, and educational staff. Based near Fremont, MI, you'll collaborate within a dynamic environment, working 35 hours per week to foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that promotes the academic and social-emotional well-being of students.
Role Qualifications:
Hold a Master's degree in Social Work. Current state licensure as a School Social Worker, or eligibility to obtain this credential. Experience working with school-aged children or adolescents in educational or clinical settings. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for building relationships with students, families, and staff. Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct social-emotional and behavioral support to students, including individual and group counseling. Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to develop intervention plans and support systems. Participate in IEP or 504 meetings, providing expertise on social, emotional, and environmental factors affecting student learning. Connect families with available community services and resources. Maintain detailed documentation and comply with all federal, state, and district policies and procedures. Advocate for student needs while promoting positive school climate initiatives.
