Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make an immediate impact supporting students from PreK through 12th grade as a contract School Social Worker. This full-time position offers a unique combination of direct service, involvement in multidisciplinary teams, and travel between sites as an itinerant provider. In this dynamic role, you'll collaborate with educators and other specialists to ensure student success in academic and social-emotional domains. Your day-to-day will involve both direct support to students and indirect services such as consultation and participation in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Michigan School Social Worker certification Current Michigan Social Worker license Experience supporting students across diverse grade levels (PreK-12) Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with students, families, and staff Ability to work independently while managing an itinerant caseload Understanding of IEP processes and commitment to advocacy for student needs
Your Responsibilities:
Provide direct social work services to students, addressing barriers to learning and promoting positive behaviors Offer indirect services, including consultation with teachers and crisis intervention as needed Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, contributing professional insights Support families and collaborate with community resources when appropriate Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to best practices in school social work Eligible professionals enjoy compensation ranging from $45 to $55 per hour, with access to healthcare benefits, and the option to receive housing and meals/incidentals while serving on assignment.
