This contract opportunity is designed for a dedicated, onsite school social worker interested in supporting young learners in a diverse educational environment. In this role, you will collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to foster positive student outcomes, address social-emotional needs, and enhance each child's academic journey. With a manageable caseload spanning three buildings—two covering grades K-5 and 3-5, plus a nonpublic school—you'll have direct impact on approximately 43-48 students.
Key Qualifications:
Credentialed and approved as a School Social Worker by the Michigan Department of Education Previous experience with elementary or middle school populations preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Compassionate approach to supporting students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted, evidence-based social work services in an onsite setting Assess student needs, develop individualized support plans, and document progress Partner with teachers and staff to design and implement interventions Engage parents and families as active participants in the student's development Support a positive, inclusive school climate through group and individual work Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule (37.5 hours/week) from mid-August through mid-May, giving you the chance to build deep connections within the school communities.
