Full-Time | Salary Accepting applications through April 23, 2026 Wellspring Lutheran Services is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving families and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a Foster Care Team Lead to join our foster care team in Kentwood, serving families across Kent, Kalamazoo and Muskegon counties. Responsibilities Develop, coordinate and implement concise, accurate treatment plans with youth, their families, foster families and/or other caretakers facilitating permanency, safety, and well-being. Assist new workers with their assigned cases. Provide and/or coordinate services to meet needs of youth in order to stabilize youth's placement, school placement and reinforce school success. (e.g. parenting time, placement visits, visits birth parents, behavior specialist services, wraparound meetings and other case conferences.) Coordinate required medical and dental services for all foster children and monitor the implementation of these services by the caregiver Engage all family members and encourage participation in services to overcome barriers and address needs. Provide assistance and consultation on complex and difficult cases as requested Coordinate all community and resource referrals and services to the family. Coordinate presentations of community resources for the team Prepare court reports and petitions and provide testimony to support permanency, safety, and well-being of the child and family, as required by DHHS contract, DHHS and agency policy, and court mandates. Train new workers on writing petitions and reports. Review reports written by assigned staff Provide emergency, on-call interventions on after hours, and on holidays, as required Integrate learning from required DHHS training into day to day responsibilities Ensure transportation is provided or arranged for parents and foster children in order to meet all goals and objectives on the treatment plan Plan and participate in special events for clients and caregivers Complete data entry into all data management systems as required, as well as keep paper files accurate, complete, and in compliance with policy, rules, and state law. Train new staff on data entry and file management. Provide regular training for new staff. Lead peer support group and provide consultation to the management team. Assist with MI TEAM implementation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in social work or a related human services field (required) One year experience working as a Foster Care Case Manager (required) Experience working with children and families (required) Valid Michigan driver's license, vehicle registration and auto insurance (required) Reliable, compassionate and committed to high-quality service
Schedule and Compensation Employment Type:
Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Salary:
$45,880 + year, based on experience
On-Call:
Participation in team on-call rotation
Work Environment:
Office-based with flexible scheduling
Travel:
