Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a difference in the lives of students while utilizing your mental health expertise in a supportive, educational environment. This contract position focuses on providing essential social-emotional support to general education students through direct individual and group services, as well as contributing to the overall well-being of classrooms and school buildings. As a Mental Health Specialist for the 2025/26 school year, you will have the opportunity to build strong relationships, collaborate with school teams, and help implement positive behavior programs in the community.
Key Qualifications:
Master's degree and active LARA license required (see Michigan requirements for details) Accepted credentials: Licensed master's or limited licensed master's social worker/psychologist, MDE credentialed master's level school psychologist, licensed bachelor's level social worker (with specific further education requirements), master's level marriage and family therapist, or master's level professional counselor School counselor licensure or Michigan teaching certificate with the school counselor endorsement also considered (additional requirements may apply) Demonstrated skills in supporting the social-emotional needs of school-aged children Experience with individual and group interventions, positive behavioral supports, and professional learning facilitation a plus
