Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of K-12 students in a dynamic school environment. This contract-based opportunity is ideal for a compassionate and experienced School Social Worker ready to collaborate closely with educators, administrators, families, and the local community.
Key Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution Fully licensed Social Worker or limited license MSW Valid LARA license, MDE SW Approval, and one of the following: Preliminary School Social Worker Certificate (PSSWC), Professional School Social Worker Certificate (PSWC), or School Social Worker Permit (SSWP) Ability to provide official university transcripts Comfortable working onsite across K-12 settings Experience working with special education students and developing intervention strategies in 1:1 and group settings
Primary Responsibilities:
Identify and evaluate the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of special education students to determine necessary interventions Create and implement behavior management plans Consult with general and special education teachers; deliver effective case management for students with diverse needs Provide counseling services for students coping with emotional and behavioral challenges, both individually and in groups Actively participate in IEP meetings, student assessments, and parent conferences Collaborate with families through regular communication and home visits to foster supportive school-home partnerships Work with community organizations and report cases of abuse, neglect, and participate in crisis intervention as required Assignment runs from mid-August to early June, 35 hours per week, working directly with students and school teams onsite.
