Job Description

School Social Worker provides comprehensive services to students in a school setting, supporting their social, emotional, and academic success. The position requires a Michigan Department of Education license, at least one year of experience, and a caseload of about 25 students. The role offers up to $55 per hour for a 39‑week contract in Manchester, Michigan.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive social work services to students in a school setting, supporting their social, emotional, and academic success. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement individualized support plans. Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop appropriate interventions or referrals. Maintain accurate documentation of services provided, progress notes, and compliance records. Advocate for students and their families, ensuring access to necessary resources and support systems.
Qualifications:
Licensed by the Michigan Department of Education with a valid school social work license. Holds appropriate school social worker licensure/certification through MDOE. Minimum 1 year of experience as a school social worker with a caseload of approximately 25 students in general and special education settings. Ability to work full‑time (37.5 hours per week) during daytime school hours. Strong communication, empathy, adaptability, and collaboration skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information. Ability to work in a school environment. Background check clearance as required by state and district regulations.
Preferred Skills:
Experience consulting for students on individualized education plans.
