About The Role Under the direct supervision of the administrator and in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Ingham Intermediate School District, the School Social Worker is responsible for providing supportive services for eligible students enrolled in regular, vocational, or special education programs. The School Social Worker will focus on student evaluation, provision of direct and indirect services, and collaborative consultation with staff, parents, agency personnel, and administrators. Provides consultative services to staff and parents within a defined pre-referral process working with students who are suspected of having a disability but are not yet eligible for special education. Provides comprehensive social work evaluation of students referred for suspected emotional impairments, ADD/ADHD or autism as part of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team through the Individualized Education Program Evaluation Team process. Provides school social work services and periodic reporting of student progress, as determined by the Individualized Education Program team, to eligible students. About You Approval by the State Department of Education as a school social worker. Master's Degree in Social Work. One year experience in school social work practice in a school setting which can include master's level social work internship.
